MICE

Mice are an economic pest that causes damage and disease. They can enter a house through an opening as small as ¼" or about the diameter of a pencil. The best preventative is "building them out," or closing all openings ¼" or larger.

Mice that are inside the house can be trapped or poisoned. Dead mice rarely cause an odor problem. If they do, it won’t last over 1 week, as mice are small and decay quickly.

You can try to control mice yourself, using products from the hardware store, or you can call a professional pest control company.

RATS

Rats are economic pests that cause damage and disease. They can enter a house through opening as small as ½" in diameter. While "building them out" by closing all openings ½" in diameter or larger is important, it’s probably best to also hire a professional exterminator for a rat problem.
